MARIONETTE LINES

Marionette lines are the creases that run from the corners of the mouth down toward the chin. They are named after the lines on a puppet’s face and can sometimes create a sad, tired, or downturned appearance, even when you are not feeling that way.

These lines develop as part of the natural ageing process, caused by:

  • Loss of volume and elasticity in the lower face

  • Gravity and descent of facial tissues

  • Repeated muscle activity around the mouth

Dermal fillers made from hyaluronic acid can be used to restore volume and support in the lower face, softening marionette lines and reducing the downward shadow they create. Treatment can also help lift the corners of the mouth, giving a more balanced and refreshed appearance.

Results are visible immediately, although mild swelling or bruising may occur for a few days. Once settled, results usually last 9–12 months, depending on the product used, individual metabolism, and lifestyle factors.

At Derma Mayfair, all filler treatments are performed by a qualified doctor, ensuring safety, precision, and results that are tailored to your unique facial anatomy.

Please note: Dermal fillers are a medical treatment. A full medical and psychosocial assessment is required to determine clinical appropriateness before treatment. Treatments are only provided where there is a clear therapeutic benefit, and we reserve the right to decline treatment if it is not deemed clinically suitable.
